This has got to be the easiest 4 unit class at UCSB. Take it with him! Not another teacher! Midterm and Final are both 30% and are 30 multiple choice (3 choices only!) and 20 true/false. The professor's English can be hard to understand, but he really is a nice man who wants everyone to get A's. And anyone can! Highly recommend.
This guy is awesome, if your gunna take classics 40, do it with him.
All the students love him. He brought mints and bagels for the class on the last day of class and for the final. I didn't buy or read a book, just did a lot of online researching and still aced the class. Just pay attention to class and make sure you either read or find summaries online. Easy A if the effort is put in. Laura Behymer is a hot TA.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS MAN! He is the most amazing professor here at UCSB. He is the cool grandpa you wish you had. Class is interesting and attending lecture is actually fun. Tests are fair and based on the readings. Over all an AMAZING class and the professor is ADORABLE.
GREAT professor! he made lecture enjoyable. I definetely recommend taking Greek Myth with him. Tests fairly. He is just an adorable man.
You don't have to attend lecture all the time but should probably do readings before going to class. I felt like he was my awesome greek grandpa or something, but lectures are difficult to understand if you aren't caught up on the readings. Midterm is super simple if you read Sparknotes but you have to actually work if you want to pass the final.

the most amazing professor I've had. he is so sweet, kind and caring. he might not remember your name but he will remember your face. he's extremely helpful and will go out of his way to help you. he's extremely passionate about his work. his reading is light, and very interesting i would tell everyone to take him. he's a freaking legend.
One of my favorite classes at UCSB. Reading consisted of the Iliad, the Odyssey, Hesiod, and a few other short readings. Seth was an excellent TA and was very helpful with the essay. If you need to GE requirement take this class
Took the class for GE, and unfortunately was at 8am three days a week. Seemed interesting at first, and he is definitely informed and loves what he does, but often found myself falling asleep or missing class due to time. Midterm and final are extremely easy and paper isn't bad if do reading and go to talk to your TA. I'd recommend for GE.
I love him! he truly cares about what he does and about his students. Tests couldnt have been any easier! Easy A as long as you go to your discussion section.
Apostles is the man! He is the grandpa you always wish you had. Tells you stories and makes you laugh. Very easy A if you go to lecture and pay attention. The tests were multiple choice with 3 options, doesn't really get much easier. Def. take greek myth with him for that easy A and classics requirement.
Great professor! Loves what he teaches and makes the class fun. 9am was a little early but it was worth it to get up for this class (he has a Greek accent!) Midterm, essay, and final with study guides provided. Do the reading and its an easy A or B. Sections are mandatory (25% of grade) but my TA was very helpful so that was fine. Highly recommend!
Professor Athanassakis is one of the best I've ever had. He was very witty and entertaining...that's a lot considering that the class was at 9am! Great experience and interesting subject! Easy midterms and final with study guides provided. The paper is a cinch! I learned a lot and I would recommened for students to take this class!
This guy's a good guy. He makes things simple and fun. easy class take it if you want a "chill" class. oh santa barbara, full of surfer bros like myself.
i didnt have to read a thing and I got an A. I used sparknotes for the weekly quizzes and did decently. He's a real sweetheart too.
Professor A really knows what he is talking about. his lectures were a bit unorganized, but not too bad. The tests are so easy. just study the review sheet and read, and you'll do fine.
super easy class! a midterm, 5 page paper, & final. I wrote the paper overnight and both the MT and final took only 30 min!It's also a plus that the teacher is entertaining, funny, and adorable (like a grandpa).I really do feel like he's telling us bedtime stories. The material was really interesting & I think I read like 5 pgs. dont buy the books

Although this class was hard to stay awake in some days, Prof A is extremely knowledgable and passionate about greek mythology. I recommend this if you have any interest in greek mythology and need an easy class to cushion your GPA

I love his teaching!! his lectures are like story time and he repeats important things so it's easy to guess what's on the tests. The midterm and final were way too easy! people started leaving after 10-15 mins during midterm and finals cus its really short and easy =)
Great Professor!! Midterm and final are very fair and easy if you've been keeping up with the reading or attending lectures. During lectures, he reviews the reading assignments which can be helpful if you didn't fully comprehend it.
Very boring lectures but he is a sweet, comical, helpful little man. His class is SO easy. Multiple choice exams, one essay. Loved the class and found the material interesting.
