I loved Sprague! Delivers clear & organized lectures w/ plenty of examples to help digest the material. Super nice guy, approachable and communicates frequently w the class. You get a full sized cheat-sheet, front and back, for the midterms (haven't taken final yet.) Weekly take-home quizzes on GS, open note. Actually wants you to succeed.

One of the best professors Ive ever taken. Weekly online quizzes that allows you to prepare for midterms. 3 non cumulative exams and will be curved. Youll go well if u read the book and go through lectures. Super fun and interesting class, professor has a great humor.

Sprague is clearly very passionate about what he teaches and this always made lectures easy to engage with. He wanted us to succeed in his class and the structure of the class reflected that. He was always down to talk after lectures and during office hours, even if it had nothing to do with the class itself. Highly recommend!

Great professor, knows how to keep lectures interesting! Take good notes in lecture and properly do the readings and you'll do well in the class! Do extra credit just in case.

Amazing professor that cared about the students enough to not blame them when their test got lost in paper work and takes that time to dig for that midterm. Funny and informative lectures. Exams- 75% of grade quizzes= 25%. Would 100% take again 10/10 class

Very pleasant man. Weekly online quizzes that are open-note w/ unlimited time (free points) and drops lowest 2. Majority of grade comes from exams (cheat sheet allowed), but they aren't bad IMO. Compared to Elliot Ihm's exams, Dr. Sprague's are WAY less detail-oriented. But you still MUST read the chapters and watch lectures to do well. Extra cred.

Amazing professor! He is very passionate about what he teaches and sets everyone up for success in his class. His tests reflect what is taught in lecture. There is a lot of reading but you should be fine as long as you complete it when assigned. So long as you complete what he assigns, you should pass. Favorite professor at this school!!

Dr. Sprague is the best professor I've ever had! The class is interesting and attractive. Dr. Sprague is really patient in answering all the questions from students. I will definitely take a class with him again! The exams will be really easy if you go through all the course materials and understand what he talked about during class.

super caring and nice professor! very passionate about what he taught even if it was a little self explanatory or dry at times. super easy to succeed if you p[ut in a little bit of work. he designs the class for student success and makes easy quizzes to help your grade as well as weights your better exams as more than your worst exams.

Amazing professor. Tommy makes lectures fun with illusions, and memorization games, and covers really interesting material. If you pay attention during lectures you will do great in the class. I highly recommend this class and Tommy!

Professor Sprague has been my favorite person in the psych department during my college career. He is a great lecturer and he tries and makes lecture slides interesting and interactive. He is passionate about his work and super accessible outside of class. Grading is very fair and he really wants to see students succeed!

Dr Sprague says hes more of a researcher than an educator but hes seriously the best prof Ive had. Course structure and grading are well thought out, lectures can be hilarious, and the material is made really interesting through examples and questions.

Professor Sprague is the best! His lectures are super interesting & engaging. Exams are straightforward as long as you attend lectures and do the readings. Weekly quizzes are short and doable. Overall, I would highly recommend Professor Sprague & this class -- one of my favorite professors by far :)

Great lecturer and fair tests. Really nice to chat with in office hours, you can tell this guy enjoys what he does. If you put in effort in this class you will be rewarded well.

Great professor

Literally my favorite professor at UCSB. He is extremely kind and helpful, and is genuinely passionate about teaching and it comes through in all of his lectures. He is very clear about what things should be paid attention to and his exams are extremely fair, if you study they are easy and he allows a full page note sheet. Great prof and class.

Tommy is one of the best. Every week he gave us the opportunity to fill out an anonymous feedback surveys. Did the same for exams, and even let us explain things we were confused about or found difficult. His dedication to his students education & success in his class is refreshing. Interesting content, all around cool guy.

So accommodating, he really went out of his way to make sure that everyone had the best chance of doing well in his class. His lectures are interesting and very clear; has some difficult test questions but very fair. He's one of the best profs at UCSB, you can tell he really cares about his students.

Tommy is such a sweetheart, always went out of his way to hold extra office hours and review sessions. He is one of the few professors out there who truly wants you to learn and will take it upon himself to help you! He's really knowledgeable about cognitive psych and his lectures always improved my understanding. do reading & watch lectures!

This man was so accommodating (especially because of the pandemic and protests)! He let us have open notes (textbook/lecture/your notes ONLY) on midterms & quizzes. Offers a 3% boost to your final grade if you do extra credit assignment properly.

Tommy is the most accommodating professor I've ever seen here at UCSB. He adjusted our course syllabus so that the weight of our grades focused on our best midterm scores, always listened to our feedback about tests and acted on it, and actually cared about our mental health with all of the events going on in the world. Nicest professor ever.

I definitely recommend this class! He is an amazing teacher and definitely cares for his students. If you listen to his lectures and do the assigned readings, you can definitely get an A.
