Really enjoyed this class he was a very good lecturer ! Minimal words on slides w only the important things which is always a plus and he offers EC. Exams are easy if youve paid attention in class and have done readings! Will be taking another one of his courses this coming quarter and I am excited, so that says a lot

He's an incredible professor, super engaging and personable. The only reason I struggled a bit was because most of the grade is based on the tests and the way they're structured was difficult for me.

Took him for social paych and paych lab. Really great guy. Probably one of my favorite Professors. Lectures wee 2 hours long but he was very easy going and easy to follow. Explained things with great detail yet kept lecture moving. Highly recommend.

Ive had him for social psych and his 120L course. He's an amazing professor. Super friendly and gives such great feedback. Don't be scared to talk to him in person or via email (responds super quick). I wish all professors were like him and cared for their students the way he does. Super knowledgable, highly recommend!

This class is pretty challenging and the quality of your TA will determine how you do. My TA was amazing and Elliott was an incredible lecturer (responding to my emails pretty much instantly, which was really helpful to synthesizing our research idea). You will put a significant amount of work in but it will be worth it.

Professor Ihm is AMAZING! I am a transfer student this year and his class made me so excited to get a degree in psych here. He is an entertaining lecturer and teaches the most interesting material. His tests are hard but what I would expect from an upper-division UC class. Take his class you won't regret it.

One of the best classes and professors at UCSB. if you watch the lectures and take notes, you will get an A. Lots of easy extra credit. Interesting material with clear and hilarious lectures. Professor Ihm cares about his students and wants them to succeed. 100% recommend him and any of his classes.

Wonderful professor with really fun lectures and super interesting. the Q&A sessions were always helpful, and the exams perfectly covered material from lectures and the textbook.

Elliott Ihm is the Thomas Barrett of the psychology department. Such a solid dude. Really excited to take courses with him in person this fall.

Literally the best teacher I've had. I've taken two of his classes and I can honestly say he tries his best to make online classes interesting. Would highly recommend; he always has good jokes. I had to miss several quizzes due to internet issues and he was always understanding.

I love this guy so much. Though a bit reading and lecture heavy, I would not hesitate to have him as my prof again. He is so refreshing and makes me actually enjoy learning. And just as everyone has said, he is so funny and understanding.

I was recommended to take this class with Ihm and Im so glad I did. His lectures are so well made and entertaining. He has a really good sense of humor and is open to reasonable negotiation with students on test questions if they bring solid evidence to his attention in Office Hours. Do the extra credit!!

Clearly an older sibling. Starts every lecture with a very digestible anecdote and works his way up conceptually so you'll never feel dumb. Organized course, you'll know what to expect. Flexible, understanding, and receptive when you need help. A professor that certainly makes you wish you had in-person lectures with to laugh at all his jokes.

I love professor Ihm! Although I had him during online school, he made amazing online lectures that were so informative and funny. You can tell he really cares about this subject and about making it accessible to as many people as possible. Take a class with him!!!!!!

PSY102 was a super interesting class and Elliott was one of the greatest professors I've had. He's super funny and conveys the course material in a really entertaining way. The exam materials are clearly stated before every test and the readings are quite interesting and easy to get through. Enjoy!

Really cool, fair professor. Offer some extra credit for that extra grade boost. Super funny and engaging lectures that effectively convey the info he wants you to know. Also clear with exam expectations with providing fair game study guides. Must take his class!

For an A, all you have to do is watch the lectures and read the articles then fill out the fair game sheets he gives you. There are 4 quizzes, 2 midterms and 1 final which are all multiple choice! Hes also just chill and actually knows how to relate to college students. He gives off good vibes so do the work and you wont regret it.

Elliot Ihm is a very funny guy with a passion to teach psychology. I took Psy 1 during the summer and was able to pass using the np/p grading option. Summer classes are taught at a faster pace, however, still provided loads of work. I recommend reading what is assigned, listen to (don't skip) the uploaded lectures, and STUDY!

An amazing professor. So passionate about psychology and teaches with such enthusiasm it makes everything so much more interesting. He is super understanding and will go out of his way to work with you. He is hilarious and so kind truly one of my most favorite professors at UCSB 10/10 recommend
