Professor Price is a really good Lecturer. I understood all the examples he'd go over and the concepts of each chapter. His Midterms and Final were very hard. He just seems to make his tests no where near as similar as the practice versions so study the book problems. Other than that he was a good professor.
Scott is great and very clear. He provides weekend review sessions and multiple office hours. He gives tips on how to succeed in his class. He is an awesome teacher that makes gen chem as fun as it can be. His final exam for 1B is known for being hard; the one I took was conceptual rather than calculation heavy which varied from the other exams.
Midterms can be hard but theyre not too bad if you do the book problems, finals are a RIP tho. Hes a really good lecturer, theres not really anything I can think of that he could do better. He can be intimidating tho when talking one on one
I followed the syllabus perfectly. I did all the recommended book problems, went over practice and old tests, & understood all the concepts. I still barely passed. I *asked* in the final review ses if the review questions were similar to the exam & he said yah. LIED! Very hard questions, almost none from book/old exams like he said there would be
Price is the best professor Ive ever had. He gives amazing lectures and is super helpful in office hours. But BEWARE, his class is really hard. Make sure you know how to do EVERY book problem (including the challenge problems) and do CLAS with Terri. Midterms are a bit harder than practice tests and final is WAY harder than the practice final.
Price is the BEST teacher you can possibly have for chem. He's a great lecturer. I 100% think he's better than anyone else to take, but be aware the class and tests are ridiculously hard. I'm a straight A student, but failed first midterm, D on the second, and an F on the final. Curve at the end is very big so I ended the class with a C. Do ALEKS!
Great lecturer, tests were definitely harder than expected however if you do all the book problems and aleks you should be good to go. GO TO OFFICE HOURS.
Professor is a great lecturer and midterms are fair. The only bad thing about this class is he makes the final IMPOSSIBLE I got B's on the midterms and straight up failed the final with a D
Price is a great lecturer we all know this, however he did a horrible job making clear what was expected. You do all the aleks and practice tests, go to review and think your ready to go, but then get to the test and its harder than anything we had ever seen. Maybe I didn't do enough book problems but the problems were very difficult.
He is one of the best professors I've ever had. He give entertaining lectures and work out every problem he found significant on the board. If you copy exactly what's on it and study for it, in addition to recommended book problems (it's a must), and ALEKS, you will do great in that class. Tests get gradually more conceptualized. Overall, great!
He's really good at explaining concepts and his tests are fair
Professor Price is the best professor at UCSB
Prof. Price is the best chemistry professor I have had so far in the general chemistry series. The way he explains things is very clear, no pauses, and to the point, although his tests are incredibly difficult. His methods of writing on the chalkboard make it clear to the student what steps to take when solving a problem. He's the best so take him!
AMAZING! Much prefer him over the other professors. Very accessible and nonjudgemental about what you do or do not know. Made an effort to best help me prepare, in order to earn the highest grade possible.
Price is hands down the best chem professor at UCSB. He is very knowledgeable and clear on his courses. I took both Chem 1A and 1B with him and he was the reason why I could succeed in chem. His tests are NOT easy, but they are fair if you put in the effort. Very helpful to do book problems that he assigns after every lecture.
Loml!! My favorite professor at UCSB so far. Def recommend taking him. Great lecturer, efficient, and youll learn really well I promise.
His lectures are so hilarious. But his test gets harder and harder as the quarter goes by. Definitely a good professor. Make sure do you do book problems.
Price is one of the best chem professors at UCSB; his lectures are concise, and he really goes out of his way to reword the material in a way that makes sense to the students. However, STUDY STUDY STUDY and enroll in CLAS, because the tests are so much harder than he lets on. I failed only because I'm bad at chem, not because of his instruction.
Had him for 1A and loved him. He's the best chem 1 series professor, so if you can get in his class, take it. He's funny, he won't nail you for missing a lecture or homework here or there, and his tests are about as easy as it gets for a curve-dependent class.
Price is without a doubt my favorite professor at UCSB! I've had him for two quarters now and his lectures are definitely top tier. Also, his notes are really concise and easy to understand so I'd recommend printing those out for lectures. He's a really easy person to talk to, and will never make you feel like an idiot. I'll miss this one.
Scott Price is such a character. He made lecture interesting and made the topics clear. He explained the problems step by step and gave everyday examples to make the topics relevant and easy to understand. There were also many opportunities to raise your grade with ALEKS, iclicker/quiz replacement, and midterm/final replacement.
Price is a great guy, I love his personality and he's super intelligent. I recommend taking CLAS because the material can be kinda tough and the more practice the better. Only thing I hated were his crazy grueling tests. Did everything I could to study and still could only pull a C on the final. Feel like I deserved better. But overall great class.
Price is AMAZING! He made chem my favorite class first quarter. Don't get me wrong, get ready to study... I averaged about 20 hours per week just for his class. Definitely the best lecturer out of all the gen chem profs. DO THE BOOK PROBLEMS!!! The practice tests and ALEKS are not enough to prepare for exams. Excited to take him again next quarter
I love Scott Price. Amazing man. Deserves the best in life. Also a great lecturer.
