He looked like TA rather than a professor; Actually his TAs gave better lecture than he did. Worst teacher ever. Have no public speaking skills. Talk a lot of un-necessary details, make you lose focus & don't know what he is talking about. I got an A in this class by studying hard myself and attending more than one section.

He's okay, his lectures are theory so unless you're very smart you probably won't keep up. Tests are hard but the materials are available (offic hrs/ practice tests) so its not impossible to do well. I got a B+ and worked hard, but am no genius.

I got an A by doing all his practice problems and making sure I really understood them. Tests are just like the practice sets. Lecture is pretty useless, it's all theory -- but that is how these econ classes are meant to be!! If it doesn't interest/help you definitely don't go - he does go over examples in lecture sometimes that are useful for test

Great professor. Tests are very fair and he practically gives you the test material on his website. Master those and you'll get and easy A. People who hate on him are beezys who dont want to do any work at all in college.

This professor is truly awful, he makes test that he wouldn't pass. He even had a TA conduct his final review session. He's one of the worst profs at UCSB; avoid him at all costs!

Passable, not a GPA booster. Forget the book and workbook problems. Focus solely on the old midterms and finals he makes available and any additional problems he writes himself. Tests look just like the old ones w/ different numbers 90% of the time. No need to attend class, it will just confuse you. Lectures all theory and tests on problems.

I studied hard, went to Section, paid for several tutoring sessions but tests were made very tricky. Horrible lectures. Does not give any credit for attendance (like Babcok did). I have to retake this class and I am disappointed that my tuition goes to this failed professor.

the lectures are not helpful at all and very confusing. But if you go to the sections and understand the workbook problems, you will get an A

worst professor ive ever had in my life, cant teach, tests are very hard, extremely unorganized and not helpful whatsoever. i wish he would quit, i doubt he'll get his tenure because he sucks at teaching so much, and i bet he sucks at his research too.

Lectures were very dry, boring, and dragged on longer than they needed to. I often did not go to lecture because I thought it was a waste of time. The slides were online, which was very helpful, but the essay test questions were confusing, and not having a calculator made problems extremely difficult.

Lecture is useless.. im confident he could not pass his own tests. Nearly every example in lecture he made errors. Economic concepts arent bad but tests are written horribly. Truly awful teacher.

Grossman is a horrible teacher. Simple as that, however, the material that this class covers is relatively easy, and he provides substantial resources. I only went to class on test days, did all the workbook problems, and all the old tests and got nearly perfect scores. If you put in the time on your own, you'll get an A.

Complete crap, stay away. He doesn't know how to teach the material. You'll have to bust your ass just to pass. You will only learn in section or from CLAS.

This teacher is awful. Lectures were boring, hard to follow, and he talks to his class like we're in graduate school. He is obviously new to this whole "teaching" thing because he lost the interest of his students halfway through the first week, and now spends his lectures walking up and down the aisles to "interact" with the class. Avoid him.

with what this class is going to do to my GPA, grossman is slowly destroying my chances of ever attending law school. and i work like crazy for this class. AVOID HIM AT ALL COSTS.

Lectures are dreadful and absolutely worthless. You're better off learning the subject matter on your own and hoping that he finally realized this isn't a graduate class.

UGHHH Lectures are so bad, I sit there and feel like I learn nothing. He goes really slow (spends like 15 just telling us where were going to do each day) tests were hard average was like a 50% and tests he spend 10 minutes correcting errors distracting everyone. I would wait to get another teacher!

If you want to teach yourself 100b through wrk book nd google,he's your man. AVOID HIM !!Personally I don't think he explains the material well, he knows his stuff but he jumps around in the slides and confuse many students." let's switch the gear and move on to..." drives me nuts. Quizzes are easy, midterm and finals.. prepare yourself.

All I can say is if you can avoid his class, please do! He's not as bad when it comes to teaching because he has this easiness and laid-back attitude. But don't be fooled when it comes to his exams. The final was so crazy hard, I don't think anybody left the room confident about their grades.

After 100A I thought 100B was suppose to be easier. The material was, but the class was not. I studied really hard, even got a tutor and that did not help with the midterm and final, due to his testing nature. Quizzes were easy but don't really affect your grade. The test questions look nothing like what you have to practice with.NO calculators too

I never thought I would come across a prof. as bad as Koch. This guy is worse. The first exam had a 50% median. The test did not relate to the workbook at all. The quizzes were easier than the tests and did not fully prepare students. His final was put together at the last minute, and left several fellow students in dismay. AVOID!!!
