Not only should you read the book, but go to class, it helps reinforce the material. ALSO for the midterm KNOW ALL THE PARTS OF THE BRAIN! He curves the whole class not only on midterm and final but also on final grades. Just know the fairgame sheet and the brain and the class is no problem--but if you can't memorize things easily don't take it.

READ THE BOOK. READ THE BOOK. i got an F on the midterm bc I didn't read. read 2nd half of the quarter and got a B on the final. experiments were fun. interesting class just a little bit hard. very "vulgar" prof (curses and makes sex jokes) but you can't help but laugh.

Funny professor. The class was pretty easy. You just have to study the material and understand the concepts. You have the option of doing experiments instead of writing a paper. Make sure to know the terms on the fair game sheet and you'll be okay.

Extremely interesting class and he teaches it very well. As far as tests go, READ THE BOOK!! His tests are really hard and you really have to study the concepts for them. The trick is too really get the fair game sheet down. He takes questions directly from it. Recommended professor.

Although his lectures are really interesting, the tests are rediculously hard. Reading the book is not enough. If you want to get an A in the class you should probably read the book at least 2 times.

He is a really good professor. His lectures are interesting and so is most of the reading. His test are tricky, even if you know the material you still have to take your time w/ the midterm and final. Take this class!

This class is my world! I still found it fairly difficult, but I really like his enthusiasm. Some people say he makes fun of the mentally ill, but I think he is just trying to really illustrate a point and get you involved in abnormal psych. He's really super cool and the class is really interesting, so I would totally recommend it!

Amazing lecturer, really engaging and passionate about material. Hands on demonstrations even in a 900 person class. Tests are fairly difficult, multiple choice. Got a B in both classes with moderate studying. Well worth taking, information really sticks. Took both PSY 1 and 103

The lectures went by so freakin fast cuz he helps the class engage with what he's talking about at the time.

His tests are hard, specific, and in depth! But thats college. Lectures are important to attend. Good, clear, and interesting professor.

GO TO CLASS AND PAY ATTENTION. He mainly reads off of his slides, but he'll give a lot of clarifying details and stories that you can't get from just looking at the slides online. He is so relaxed and fun and I loved going to class! He loves answering questions in the middle of class.

The best professor EVER! Could not wait to go to class because he was so funny and interesting. Very casual in class, he wore flip-flops and would encourage us to shout out answers. You must attend class every time if you want to do well in the class. Final is half lecture and half reading. Gives a fair game sheet and final is non cumulative.

Dr. Fridlund is an amazing professor. Truly loves teaching and psychology and is very casual while teaching, he wear flip-flops to class and will encourage students to participate and shout out answers. But, you need to read and show up to lectures in order to be prepared for the final. Gives a fair game sheet so you know what is on his tests.

This class is pretty easy. You can get an A if you just do the reading and pay attention in lecture. Very interesting and entertaining professor. The reading isn't that bad and the material you learn isn't complicated at all. He is very fair and there's only 1 midterm and 1 final. (You also need 6 experiment credits which are REALLY easy to get).

Fridlund is possibly the funniest professor I've ever had. I never missed any of his lectures not only because I needed to go to them to do well in the class, but also because they were really entertaining. The midterm and final were very easy, so you'll likely get a good grade if you study.

VERY FUNNY & ENTERTAINING. Should be an easy class if you put SOME time into reading & attempt to understand the terms & concept. A lot of the material is just common sense. Loved the class & the video he showed us, but I recommend reading. I didn't read or study & got a flat B...would have done it differently if I could. I am a lazy person.

One thing that set's Fridlund aside from other Psych 1 professors is his use of the fair game sheet and the final is not cumulative. This makes me believe his class is easier than Revlin. The class itself is extremely interesting and highly recommended.

Ridiculously interesting class

best professor ive had yet. he is so interesting to listen to and gets the class going w/ his jokes. really study the fair game sheet and the tests should be fine.

Fridlund kept the class interesting and was very clear on all the concepts and ideas presented. Hes a funny guy at times too, and makes the class a fun experience.

Listening to Fridlund lecture in class was like listening to an hour and 15 minutes of comedy. his quotes and methods of memorizing the subject matter are original and hilarious. stay on top of the reading! the tests are difficult, but it is easy to stay interested in this topic because it is fascinating.

The professor made class fun and he really respected people's questions! The fairgame sheet for the midterm and final, which outlined the terms needed for studying, was really helpful and made studying really effective! Overall, a good class and great teacher!

Fridlund is one of the best professors at UCSB. He is so funny in lecture but smart and interesting too. Print out the notes before lecture, it is much easier. And read the book. Tests are fairly straight forward but you do need to study to do good on them. Use the fair game sheet and make sure you know everything. Take his class!!!
