He's an extremely funny teacher with ADHD, so his lectures are completely amusing. You learn a lot, and it's fun. Take this class.

Nice guy. I could tell that he cared about all students. However class lasted 1 hour and 15 minutes. I believe that class should have lasted only 50 minutes. The secion was another lecture.

The best professor I've ever had. He's an amazing lecturer and makes every class interesting, which is pretty clear when Campbell Hall is full each time. On top of that, it's a class that everyone should take.

He made the class very interesting, and if you are thinking about taking it, do it. He can be pretty funny and witty at times and he makes the midterm/final easy to prepare for. I know my grade doesn't reflect that, but hey, first quarter freshman year, I'm still sort of getting the hang of things. Great teacher, great class.

This is a great professor. All you need to do is attend lecture. He gives you all the key terms you need to know prior to the class, so all you need to do is fill in their definitions. For the reading, just look for the key terms and you're done. I worked less than 2hrs per week and got an A!

He is a good professor. Lectures are very organized and is in accordance with the textbook (which he wrote). Sections weren't mandatory. A fair amount of information but just study the study guide he gives.

sections are worthless. your grade is based solely on final and midterm and in a class of 800 the curve barely helps. interesting subjects though

Good class, fairly easy. He posts notes and powerpoints online. He's entertaining during lectures. The sections are a bit pointless and the experiments are annoying but it's an interesting class. Just read the stuff that's on the fairgame sheet and you'll be in good shape.

Alan Fridlund is a great professor, highly intelligent and capable guy. Lectures are enjoyable and interesting. Does his best to make the material relevant and fun, Alan is a really funny guy. Weekly readings are interesting. Midterm is harder than final because of the biology. STUDY the fair game sheet and lecture notes and you'll get a good grade

funny guy, looks like a smurf with blue-tinted powerpoint shining on his face. easy to listen to and learn from. hes a bad-ass too- all you have to do to succeed in his class is show up, listen, and read your book once a week for an hour. its good reading, too. fridlund wrote it himself.

Funny and interesting what more can you ask for from a lecture

Not only should you read the book, but go to class, it helps reinforce the material. ALSO for the midterm KNOW ALL THE PARTS OF THE BRAIN! He curves the whole class not only on midterm and final but also on final grades. Just know the fairgame sheet and the brain and the class is no problem--but if you can't memorize things easily don't take it.

READ THE BOOK. READ THE BOOK. i got an F on the midterm bc I didn't read. read 2nd half of the quarter and got a B on the final. experiments were fun. interesting class just a little bit hard. very "vulgar" prof (curses and makes sex jokes) but you can't help but laugh.

Funny professor. The class was pretty easy. You just have to study the material and understand the concepts. You have the option of doing experiments instead of writing a paper. Make sure to know the terms on the fair game sheet and you'll be okay.

Extremely interesting class and he teaches it very well. As far as tests go, READ THE BOOK!! His tests are really hard and you really have to study the concepts for them. The trick is too really get the fair game sheet down. He takes questions directly from it. Recommended professor.

Although his lectures are really interesting, the tests are rediculously hard. Reading the book is not enough. If you want to get an A in the class you should probably read the book at least 2 times.

He is a really good professor. His lectures are interesting and so is most of the reading. His test are tricky, even if you know the material you still have to take your time w/ the midterm and final. Take this class!

This class is my world! I still found it fairly difficult, but I really like his enthusiasm. Some people say he makes fun of the mentally ill, but I think he is just trying to really illustrate a point and get you involved in abnormal psych. He's really super cool and the class is really interesting, so I would totally recommend it!

Amazing lecturer, really engaging and passionate about material. Hands on demonstrations even in a 900 person class. Tests are fairly difficult, multiple choice. Got a B in both classes with moderate studying. Well worth taking, information really sticks. Took both PSY 1 and 103

The lectures went by so freakin fast cuz he helps the class engage with what he's talking about at the time.

His tests are hard, specific, and in depth! But thats college. Lectures are important to attend. Good, clear, and interesting professor.
