Eric is a very smart person and is knowledgeable in his field. However, he is not the best lecturer. He just 100% reads off of lecture slides, so much so that by week 4, only 1/5 of the class went to lectures. It was a waste of time. I learned some things, but in the end I felt robbed of my machine learning experience and its unfortunate.

Pretty laid back class, but make sure to go to lecture as that is the most important material on the exams. The textbook is useful to an extent, but lectures are essentially a summary of the assigned reading. The midterm was fairly easy but the final was harder, but had extra credit. In general a good professor with fair grading, and hw was easy.
