LIU HAOYANG
GREATEST math prof I ever had! He really wants his students to succeed in his class. Has accent but not hard to understand. All notes on canvas and good handwriting. Written midterm (easy one). Easy online final and he round up grades. If you are Chinese just talk to him in Chinese! He's actually very talkative and willing to share suggestions.
Has a big accent but he is a caring prof. He will respond to emails incredibly quickly. Bonus if you are Chinese, just talk to him in Chinese instead. Very easy class.
108A is a hard class, especially proof-based Linear Algebra. Haoyang Liu is not bad, although he has a heavy accent. Just need to put some more time outside class. He is very nice in office hours and can speak to him in mandarin.
Homework is trivial at times and is quite long. I think he's nice and cares but teaching in general is pretty hard. He uses old slides and the exams are quite hard. I'd definitely recommend touching up on all concepts as you will be saved if you do on the exams. Explanations of concepts weren't too helpful, especially more diff ones later.
Not sure what the first review is talking about. Exams tested concepts not covered in class. Tough grading on mistakes and lectures are not worth it. I feel that the content is more confusing when he explains it. He talks about things a lot that aren't useful. Good luck!
Lowk light ahh class, easy A
