Prof Russel is awesome! She really encourages you to actually understand the material by calling on people during class. It isn't targeted tho and she is really patient. There are pop quizzes, but they are usually really easy or based on worksheets she gave the class before. She will give hints if she is going to have a pop quiz.

Lectures are very engaging because she randomly calls on people, or goes row by row. So you have to somewhat pay attention. There are also 4–5 pop quizzes throughout the quarter, so you have to attend. The tests were not very difficult though, and she does not curve. She did my round my grade from 92.51 to 93, which was nice.

Would always call on people in class randomly and put you on the spot. Lectures are unorganized. Went over a chapter in the last class before the final in 7 minutes. Mostly graded on exams. For an elective class, this was definitely not worth it and should be so much easier. I spent more time on this class than my other accounting classes.

If you are a major introvert and skip lectures, this class is not for you. She averages a pop quiz every two weeks (relatively easy) and randomly calls on people to answer simple questions. She is also very kind and patient. 2 midterms and final. The project takes 2-3 hours and is pretty easy if you know what you're doing. Very useful class.

Decent person but a bad teacher. Lectures are mostly rambling, which makes her seem unprepared. Exams have 30+ MCQs plus 2 FRQs in about 65 minutes - way too much. She skips through content, assuming we're experienced CPAs, leaving gaps in learning. Tests are stressful and fast-paced. Avoid this class and take it with someone else if you can.

If you do the practice Brief Exercises, read the textbook, and attend lectures and discussion section, you will be alright.
