BAKSHI R P
Lectures are clear and structured, and she encourages the class to participate and test our understanding. Grading is very fair. If you show up to every lecture, take good notes, and study well outside of class, you will pass easily.
Super good prof, the only difficult part of this class is the fact that its when math starts getting extra conceptual. I never went to class but she posts comprehensive notes and the section is super helpful. Her tests are much easier than the practice she gives out so its pretty easy to do well.
Incredibly clear lectures that were informative and understandable. Homework was lenient but helpful, and the test prep was incredible. Tests were not too hard with generous curve.
Her lectures are very thorough and easy to follow. All homework are graded online with unlimited attempts, so they back up your grade. She also gives you practice problems to prepare for her midterm and final, which are exactly like what you would see on the actual exam. She does have a slight Indian accent but it's good enough to understand.
The lectures were easy to follow with tons of practice provided, and the midterm and final were exactly what you'd expect and often copied homework problems.
Clear lectures, easy tests ripped from study material, cheat sheets + bonus credit on midterm/final. Lowest homework dropped, grade pulled from one of two grading scales (whichever is better). Answered questions during class. 4/5 because we didn't end up covering some essential topics (diagonalization, orthogonal vectors, least squares, etc.).
Really cares about students and will explain any question asked. Lectures can be over-complicating at times but most of the time they're fine.
Professor is very kind, and wants us to do well. She is very clear and accessible, and midterms/final are exactly like her practice questions. Wants us to come out of the class learning, does not expect perfection. Partial credit on exams, and you should be fine in the class as long as you do the homework and pay attention in lecture.
Great lectures, one short homework assignment per week
One of the best math profs I've had at ucsb. Lectures are straightforward and easy to follow and she takes the time to answer student questions and make clarifications as needed. Only one hw assignment per week, genuinely helpful sections, plenty of exam prep worksheets (which the exams are directly based on), and very generous grader.
Goes through topics very thoroughly in lectures. Sections are pretty useful for practice and some concepts that aren't covered in lecture. Very generous grader. Tests are very similar to her practice problems.
goes step by step and explains things clearly, super helpful in office hours.
