Petra is so nice and really wants you to succeed in bio, but I had to do a lot of studying on my own because she is not good at explaining concepts. The first 5-10 min of class is just updates and reminders and we skips a lot of materials taught in big bio, but I won't complain because her midterm questions are so easy.

Dr. K was so nice, but this was her first time teaching this class, and it showed. There were always mistakes on slides/quizzes, which was confusing. Her lecture notes are also very messy, which makes it hard to review when studying for exams. The lectures also don't cover all the material on the exams, which are VERY specific on concepts.

Just getting used to lecturing for this class, and answers a lot of in class questions. Helpful office hours and has clear expectations and lecture slides. Fun to take this class with this professor and had helpful assignments

She is very nice and takes time to explain things. However she is TOO nice and we barely move through material. If you want an easy A, she's great, but if you want to learn more that what she covers, you'd have to do that on your own. Despite that, small bio is much better than big bio for MCDB 1B

I thought about giving a 3/5, but Petra is very kind and caring, and she does really want the best for her students. She is not very knowledgeable on the material though, and would oftentimes confuse both herself and the class. She does have an (adorable) ESA, so she might just be nervous in lectures, which should get better the more she teaches.
