The best teaching style and class I've ever had at UCSB so far. The homework is straightforward and super helpful for tests. Exams are very easy and not designed to trick you. The most difficult part is the lab sections, so make sure to keep up with the work. Ask the TA if you have any questions, they're there to help!

single-handedly raises the bar for every prof ever. you can tell her research is in teaching because she KNOWS how to do it and do it perfectly. psy 10a is super terms/definitions heavy but she made it super interesting and clear. if i could take every class with her i would tbh.

There were 2 midterms and a final research proposal. I really liked the InQuizitive homework tool (much better than ALEKS in my opinion). Martella is a super sweet prof and even took the time to learn all her student's names in a full lecture hall. She really cares about educational psych and that makes her a great teacher on the subject.

Amazing person. Not too much work considering this class is very material heavy. Lectures were super engaging, and she encouraged students to ask any questions. Attendance was required, but the lectures were always super intriguing. 10/10.

One of the best professors I have ever had. Her main priority is making sure her students understand the material. Lectures are very clear, and if you go to class and listen(iClicker so you probably will), it is very easy to get an A on the exam.

hands down the best professor i have ever had. Super passionate about what she teaches and teaches it in a good way and takes the time to get to know her students.

One of my fav professors at UCSB so far! Cares about student learning and grading is fair. Attendance is required but lectures do a good job of explaining key concepts + examples. She responds to emails fast & is very understanding. Tests are fair (similar Q's to iclickers). Stay on pace with lab for the research paper as it can get confusing.

Super easy, I spend maybe 2-3 hrs outside of class. Dr. Martella goes over the textbook material in lecture so reading helps, but is not necessary. Makes pop culture references + gives examples for every concept. VERY open to feedback and criticism. Class avg on midterm was 92%. 2 exams only worth 15%, grading is distributed across many things.
