Super cool guy and explains the concepts well. He makes lecture easy to understand and test questions are always extremely reasonable.
He's just a chill guy
Goat. The best math teacher I had, and really great and upstanding dude. You know he loves teaching but also math in general, which makes each lecture fun and engaging.
Troy is the best Math Teacher I've ever had. Never took Calc in Hs so i came to ucsb completely unaware of what was to go and I ended up loving all calc concepts. He holds office hours weekly, provides mock exams, and make his lectures really engaging. Would definitely take him again.
I hate calc so much but he's literally the best math teacher i've had in my life. energetic, passionate and is eager to help. if you're given the option to take his class, do it.
I haven't even finished the quarter yet but I can't sing Troy's praises enough. Straight to the point, funny, lecture notes available outside of class, genuinely cares about you, great TA (Claire), makes hard topics easier to manage. You have around 2/3 weekly webwork assignments and a quiz at the end of each section. If he is an option, take him.
BEST TEACHER EVER! lectures were straight to the point and gave us everything we needed to exceed in exams! office hours were super helpful! made learning tough topics understandable
I took him for 4A summer session A. He is a good lecturer. My only complaint is that he doesnt really break down the definitions in a simpler context, but looking over the textbook is good. I genuinely enjoyed his class, and he gave us a final study guide which was really helpful. No calculators, no notes. Still manageable.
The best teacher I've ever had in my life. He's knowledgeable and patient, making his lecture and office hour quite efficient. More importantly, he's always happy to solve the math problem with you, step by step, rather than telling you the answer and the theorem applied. That's more than helpful.
