Took him summer session B. He gave a lot of partial credit on exams which saved my grade bc they were hard. Be prepared to do a lot of self studying!! Strong accent and handwriting is not good. This class was hard because of the material and because of the way he taught so be prepared to do a LOT of self st
I don't know what to write about him. Two finals is crazy and no proper study guide. I could not understand his handwriting. This class is mostly tests heavy and he randomly asks questions from his lecture notes and expects us to write it down correctly. Would definitely not take him again. I learned more from the TAs and by self study. I
I could barely read his handwriting during lectures and I could not even understand him with his strong accent. Gave us TWO CUMULATIVE finals which was mentally exhausting. Prepare to do a lot of self studying! this was a very stressful experience that no one should have to go through. Super unfair that Session A had to only take one final!
Just saw the previous rate. In Session A math 6A, Ricci was/is a great professor. He made it excruciatingly clear what was going to be on the midterm and final. We had a two part final and the second part he gave a free 20% basically. The prev rating was from Session B where the students are low ki bad, I saw the review of the midterm, was not good
Math 6a during summer. Worst teacher I have ever had in UCSB. Avoid him !!! Strong accent, with no logic lecture. Confused exam
Fabio is truly willing to help students succeed. I took MATH4B over the summer, and it was difficult slamming 6 weeks of differential equations into my brain over zoom. Fortunately, Fabio was willing to zoom one-on-one with me during office hours or late at night to help me with homework and exam preparation. His passion for math is admirable.
I took Math 4B Differential Equations with prof. Ricci in summer 2021 and it was my favorite course so far at UCSB! His lectures were very thorough and clear; he provided detailed examples and he was always accessible when we needed further clarification. Additionally, he was very accomodating & allowed for HW extensions when needed. A must take :)
Seems like a good guy, and is lenient on grading the exams.
Doesn't Curve and says rounding up (Ex: 81.1% to 82% is generous). Avoid if possible.
