Prof. Wood is a generous and kind professor who really wants students to succeed. She's very approachable and easy to talk to! There's a lot of group labs (2 per week on top of individual labs) but they're relatively straightforward. She also offers a lot of extra credit assignments. Would definitely recommend taking a class with her.

She's very kind and caring, but she's also very disorganized. The lab instructions are vague, and she changes them throughout the week we have to do them. It's hard to keep up with all of the changes. Her lectures are all over the place, but overall not a difficult class. Emphasis on group work which I appreciated

Shes not very organized and isnt very descriptive in her labs so its difficult to know exactly what youre supposed to be doing. There are graded lecture activities every lecture which aren't helpful. There are so many things going on in this class and theyre just poorly executed in my opinion.

Best Professor I've had so far at UCSB. She's very considerate of student's needs. You will learn so many tools for C++ and gain experience working with larger scale projects. Quizzes/final are straightforward if you understand the lecture assignments. Labs can be very challenging, but she lets you work on them in pairs. Overall great experience.
