This class is an easy A if you keep up with readings and take reliable notes. Grading was made up of Paper #1 Outline (10%), Paper #1 (15%), Paper #2 (15%), Final Exam (20%), Concert Writing Assignment (10%), Participation (25%), and Professionalism (5%). Reading + lecture material was interesting and engaging. I recommend Chet Stussy as a TA.

Not sure why there are some really bad reviews; prof did take down lectures after 48 hrs but I felt that that was enough time for me to manage time to watch them (lectures are 30-45 min. long). She is also very passionate about the content! Only downside is papers - grades depend entirely on your TA and prompts are overly complex.

The TA's nitpick at the stupidest stuff, (Chet Stussy) in particular. Everybody takes this class thinking it'll be an easy A art GE but that is far from the case. Multiple papers that have very confusing prompts, that honestly don't make sense. On top of that, you'll lose points for the stupidest things that make getting an A impossible. AVOID !

This class was most frustrating bc of its structure. There are really no assignments until week 6, but then you have 3 or 4 essays to complete in 4 weeks, which was frustrating because it felt like we wasted so much time at the beginning of the class. It could've been better spaced out and therefore much less stressful.

main downside to the class is that lectures are deleted every 48 hours. She DOES reupload them before the final. But with having to do weekly forums for part of your grade, it can be hard to go based on readings alone. really frustrating bc you can neither get ahead nor catch up on ur own time, which takes out the major point of async learning :/

Lectures expire after 48 hours, which ruins the point of an asynchronous class in my opinion. Three major writing assignments that are pretty easy, but the prompts are often overloaded with information and make it really confusing to figure out what the heck I'm even supposed to write about or what requirements are needed. Avoid at all costs.

This class was lightwork and the lectures were actually on topics I found interesting. Although Jillian talks fast af I just slowed it down and was aight while taking notes. The papers, final and midterm were aight but I know some people that found them hard. Overall SHLIGHTWORK

The material is very interesting, and you can tell that Professor Fischer is very passionate about it! Make sure you watch the lectures since they're only up for 48 hours. If you have a valid reason for missing the lectures, the prof is very accommodating and can give you an extension. Overall, the class is very easy, and you will do just fine!

Grade will NOT round up and is non-negotiable in this course! Everything is graded by TA, so choose a good TA is important. I got 96.55 at last, but Jillian didn't move me to A+. It's a little pity, but anyway I enjoy this course.

Professor Fisher is really amazing, her lectures are clear and interesting, inspirational at the same time. there are two paperwork and one mid, one final. the TA is very important for this course and I would recommend Naomi, she reply to the email on time and always be so helpful. she is the best

Very little assignments, meaning they had a very large impact on your grade. Jillian succeeded in keeping you interested when teaching classical music. Related concepts to real life, which really helped with your understandings of the material

The class is interesting but direction is very vague. This could be due to the lack of organization on the TA part. I also think it is very unfair that the lectures expire after 48 hours. Like c'mon we're in a pandemic!
