The class is not difficult, and the material is mostly straight forward. However, she is insanely difficult to deal with and not a caring person. She gave a seemingly straightforward writing assignment but graded it ridiculously strictly and also spied on students via GroupMe. Do NOT recommend if you want a caring lecturer.
Exams were straightforward so long as you watched the lectures and took comprehensive notes. Didn't need to read much of the textbook. There were a few issues with the first exam of the quarter and the grading criteria for the final essay but I believe she's getting rid of that assignment and I felt like she adapted pretty well to the challenges.
The worst professor I have ever dealt with at UCSB. She is extremely rude and unhelpful. Email her? You wont get a response, or you will get a nasty one. Her exams are straightforward but the paper she assigned at the end completely messed up everyones grade and she refused to override it. DONT TAKE HER CLASS
-good lectures -barely read: read vision chapter + wish I read drugs and mental health -extra material posted on every topic so you can learn more if you want -very caring, made mistakes but made up for them<3 -tests did not have anything unexpected (all from lecture besides DID) the paper did but she said she won't repeat that for future quarters
Only watched lectures & did fairly well on the exams. She doesnt provide a pdf ppt & her lecture mainly consists of pics. Kasie gave very unclear instructions and anxiety but understandable bc she is a new professor. I believe she will improve her next class because my class were the hamsters:,) she does seem passionate about teaching.
Despite some issues in the class regarding unclear assignments, the class was really interesting and she generally explained things well. She's really nice and cares about the best interest of her students. One thing to be aware of though: she does not provide powerpoint slides which can make lectures a bit strenuous and time-consuming.
