MARCEL IS ONE OF THE BEST i had him for german 3 and for 116a (c lit) and had the time of my life. marcel is caring and passionate about the material and is good at leading the class in discussion

I was one of the few people that would participate and I got As and Bs on everything but when it came to writing our final in French which was the one that counted most, he gave me a zero cause I used a couple things we didnt learn in class. Why give us that many words when we know so few. Its hard not to try to help yourself. Messed up my GPA

Marcel is one of the best at UCSB. He's caring and doesn't make you look dumb for not knowing or pronouncing something wrong. He's very inclusive and will make sure that no one is left out! :)

TAKE HIS CLASS. HE IS THE BEST!!!!!! Love Marcel's class. He is a very thoughtful instructor. Takes his time to explain the material so no student falls behind. He is a native speaker, so he is very knowledgeable. His class is also very fun and there is a sense of community with the other students.

Marcel is a true gem at UCSB! Take his class if you get a chance and want to learn German.
