If you just want an easy A and not learning much out of linguistic classes, Ivanne is not your choice. She cares what students can get the most out of the class, as English is not international students' first language and they can make many mistakes. She doesnt only teach you how to write, but also share cultural aspects

Ivanne's class is not easy because she really wants her students to learn things, especially for international students. She treats her class seriously and wants to give students effective and useful instructions. She pays attention to grammars a lot, so I would say write in clear logic way and try to make grammar mistakes as least as possible

The class was really tough. If you have to take her class, it would take you a great effort to reach an A or A+. It was time consuming since her workloads and exams were huge. Generally do not recommend to take her class.

Shes a little bit harsh but overall a good professor. She has a lot of restrictions for your works and is really strict about grammars and MLA format. But if you work on this course youll get solid grades.

Tbh sometimes she gave us many feedbacks but sometimes she just skimmed our papers. She responded emails pretty slow. Have to read a lot and know reading well to start a paper. When we did not do well she gave us a chance to get extra credits. Also, she curved our grade which saved my GPA thank God!! Btw follow her structure, or you'll regret..

TBH, her class is not very easy but she has indicated at the beginning of the quarter that a solid grammar foundation is needed. In terms of the professor herself, she usually provides valuable suggestions for me at least, and I appreciated. In general, though the course requires a good amount of work, it's still doable.

This class is not a water class under this professor, don't choose her class!!!!! She is not recognized and have too much homework. We write a lot, but this class do not satisfy the writing area. Just take Ling classes with other good professors.

She did not organize class time well enough. We had ten minute presentations, and we had to stay in class for an extra ten minutes for this two hour class after the class time is over to wait for a classmate to present.

Thia Professor is awful

assigned a lot of stupid assignments. wasted so many time, but learned nothing!!! Don't take her for yourself!!!!
