Had him for GEOG20. Engaging and clearly cares about course material. Really funny and approachable, it was easy to ask questions during lecture. Tests are fine as long as you pay attention during lecture, papers are easy.
Cascade is awesome. Had him for Geog 20 and also as a TA for Geog 3a. He is funny and down to earth. Lectures were pretty straight forward + FUN. You can tell he has a passion for the stuff he's talking about. Not a total easy A, but if you study and read a little, you should be okay. Definitely best class I've taken at UCSB so far.
One of my favorite instructors so far. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about the class. If you can't make his office hours he is very flexible and willing to accommodate. If you attend the class it is very helpful (and he makes it humorous) but he does post lecture notes. Overall, I highly recommend it.
Not an interesting class, unless you surf, then take it. Otherwise, it is a boring iclicker-fueled slog of a class. Lectures are practically useless, but you still have to go due to iclicker points. Tests were easy and readings were not entirely neccesary to pass the class.
This class is very interesting especially for actual surfers. There is a lot of reading and the tests can be a little unfair. However, the class is totally doable if you just put in a little work. The readings are somewhat relevant to the tests and barbarian days is an important read. I got the audible version and I'm doing fine.
