He's fine as he provides examples in class, but hw & exams are ridiculous to some extent. He gives practice problem but some questions in real exams are very hard. Some of quizzes also not easy. Need lots of efforts for his class if u want a decent grade although he did curve. 80% on miderm & 90% on final & everything else almost 100% and got A.

Extremely hard to understand during lecture which made going to lecture boring... I just copied down his example problems because I didn't know what he was saying. I thought this would be an easy class since I had taken AP Calc in high school but his tests were so much harder than they needed to be. That being said, he did give a good class curve.

I did not enjoy Professor Guang's teaching style. Lectures seemed to me like a regurgitation of the textbook, but somehow in an even less clear way. Very technical in his teaching and almost mechanical in his behavior. I would not recommend him at all. I am sure he is a great researcher but my least favorite instructor yet at UCSB.

Homework consists of problems all over internet pdf's, Khan Academy, and mainly youtube. The problems are good to make the exams easier, therefore I am saying they are very difficult.

He is the best Professor that I've ever seen. Clear lecture, clear lecture notes and very kind. Though he has accent sometimes makes difficult to follow, the lecture notes will help you a lot. This courses is super hard, however, he made it easier than it seems. Excellent professor.

Very organized professor, shows a lot of examples in lecture which really help!! He posts practice tests for the midterm and final, and they very similar to the actual exam.

Once you get past the accent this guy is amazing. Really straightforward and clear. Beware of the midterm though. If you make it past the midterm with gas in the tank you'll sail easy through the final.

Lectures are clear and organized. He is very patient and willing to answer your questions. Really cares about students. He gives practice problems before midterm which are very helpful.

Lecture is worthless, but his office hours are very useful. A lot of homework, and the exams are long and a third of the questions will be very tricky. The quiz and homework portion are all very easy.

Professor Guang is EXTREMELY helpful during his office hours. I skipped some classes which I probably shouldn't have because he gives useful examples during classes. But nevertheless with reading the book, doing all the homework and going to his office hours guaranteed me an A. Not an easy A. But for sure the most exciting classes of Fall 2017!

This course could be very difficult, but Prof. G makes ample steps to make sure we understand the information and are able to excel in the class. His accent makes it sometimes difficult to understand but he is in the habit of repeating himself and writing out exactly what he means. He preps his students for each assignment, quiz, and exams well

He is from China, so it is reasonable for him to have a strong accent. Really helpful in his office hour. Midterms and Finals are straightforward. But there is one or two question may be tricky.
