Best prof I've had to date. He seriously was like a luxury professor in comparison to everyone else. Super kind and caring, made all expectations to succeed in his class clear and achievable given some hard work, and had excellent and engaging lectures. If you have the chance to take a class with him, you will not regret it.

Shane's physio class was amazing this quarter. The class was graded by weekly quizzes, two midterms and a final. Very clear grading criteria and made it very easy to succeed. He is super understanding and caring towards all his students and always available for questions, and his office hours were always fun to attend

very caring & understanding towards his students, mental health days bc he values that we have lives outside of school. his study guides are literally the most helpful tool for midterms, he is clear about which topics to focus on & it's curved. makes concepts easy to understand, take every class with him if you can. the best!!

Professor Nourizadeh is one if the best professors I've had at UCSB. He is clearly passionate about what he teaches, and truly cares about his students. He wants to help you understand the material and guides you in the best ways to study and is always available for questions and help. I've learned so much from him.

Professor Nourizadeh is one of the best professors I have had at UCSB. He cares about each of his students' success and ensures that the class is fair for everyone. Lectures are interesting, organized, and paced in a digestible manner. Exam expectations are crystal clear with the practice exams and topic review sheets.

It's his first year teaching this class and I think he did an amazing job. Class was graded on mostly tests (4 tests and a final) but he explained the material in an extremely clear and logical way and never tried to trick you on the tests. You can tell that he was passionate about teaching and really cared about his students. 10/10 recommend.

For MCDB he is definitely learning how to teach the course, but where he lacks experience he makes up in enthusiasm and care for his students. The course was hard (I took it during summer and it was very fast paced) however Shane was very approachable during office hours. He really cares about his students and takes note of the work you put in!

One of the best TAs in the whole in MCDB department. If you have any ambition to actually learn anything in molecular bio, this is the best guy to go for. Quizzes are easy A's as long as you do the pre-labs before class. He has excellent skills in lab and knowledge in biology. I wish I could take him for more classes but graduation is too soon.
