A lot of people like Brooks as a professor but I really didn't. He talks so quietly that unless you sit in the first 5 rows you can barely hear him; students would often ask him to repeat things. He can't work with technology and it'd take him 3 minutes just to play a YouTube video. Teaching style was boring and grading was very sporadic.

He is really friendly, gives alot of reading to do but most of it is really interesting. I took two classes with and would gladly take more. he has alot of amazing knowledge to give. You have 1 or 2 papers to do but for one of the papers you can either choose to present it or write a 10 page paper. He really in an old man way.

Professor Brooks has great hair and can really give a lecture. He's very comfortable with the class material and there's no question he can't answer. The readings are well chosen and intriguing. You have to read for this class, even write reading notes. He's definitely a liberal and thinks we should do something about the water crisis.

Hist of the Amer. West, about the culture around water- past, present and future. Not a lot of reading, ppts straightforward. 2 easy reading quizzes, 1 film review, in class MT and a final paper. He's smart and loves what he does, overall a great class. I'd take another class of his definitely!!
