Without doubt the worst lecturer I've had the misfortune of studying under. Refuses to do examples, explains nothing. Completely useless. If you are stuck with him be prepared to teach yourself, he will contribute nothing.
Great professor! Just take his class!!
Very helpful during lecture and office hours. He tries his very best for his students to understand the material. Beware though he will walk around in class and ask you whether or not you have questions, but he only does it to help his students. The material is not hard to grasp. Easily one of the best stats professors out there. Recommend him.
simply the worst stats professor I've ever had during my time here in UCSB. very hard to understand because of his thick accent, explanations are not clear at all. went to office hours, helped out a bit but it just wasn't enough. i should've listened to my friends when they told me to avoid this professor at all costs.
Very willing to help in office hours. Will sit down with you one on one and explain anything you are unsure of. Gets to know students that come to office hours and is very funny and friendly. Material is not that difficult either. All around fair and good teacher, probably one of my favorite at UCSB.
He is a very fair professor who is willing to help to students when he can. If you have questions he will take time to make sure you get your question answered. Allows you to use sheet of notes for exams and tests are very fair. If you can do the homework and extra practice you will ace the exams.
The class itself wasn't very difficult, but Mangalam made sure that the final and midterm were near impossible. Taking his class was my worst mistake at UCSB.
worst teacher I've ever had.
