Liu makes this class very simple. Half of the tests are homework problems we've already had. However, this only set me up for failure in PSTAT 120B. My best advice is if you plan on taking the 120 series, pay close attention in 120A and actually make an effort to understand the material because it's easy to pass without learning anything.

160 is known as the hardest subject in the department. Liu made it harder to understand the material that need to be covered. However, overall percentage of the class passed it.

This class was tough but fair. I found the material challenging and the tests demand a clear understanding of the conceptual basis behind the math but as long as you go to (every!) class and section, study and do the homework you should pass. Sometimes it took me a second to understand what he was saying in class (ESL speaker) but it worked out.

Liu is a great professor and posts all his lecture notes online. Midterm is super easy, but he makes his final a little more tough. Has a policy where 50% of exam is exactly like something you've seen before, 30% is similar, and 20% is new. Wants all his students to pass and allows a cheat sheet for the exams. I recommend taking him.

If you enjoy taking a class where no one understands the material, but the class is curved so it doesn't matter, then you will like him. Honestly I love probability but I just hate his awkwardly intimidating persona. He is very nice on exams so grading isn't an issue, I just wish I had a better chance to learn this material.

This class is definitely not an easy A, but he is very helpful and accessible. He also really wants his students to pass and is pretty lenient with grading if he sees that you are making an effort plus part of midterm and final are from the hw. Still he has high expectations for the amount of material and the depth of understanding of his class.
