Her teaching is so well-organized that anyone without comm prereq classes could walk in and listen to a fascinating lecture. She is passionate, well-spoken, and engaging. I rarely see her after class without a line of students flocking to get her attention with comments and insights inspired by the lecture. Bring Aldeis back @UCSBcomm!
My favorite professor I've had! Very engaging lectures and she makes a point to connect the ideas to very relevant stories/examples. Lectures are well organized and are easy to follow. Tests are multiple choice and can be challenging. Textbook use is somewhat minimal since she covers most of what you need to know during lecture. Very knowledgable!
She is the best professor I have had so far! She maintains a great balance between professionalism while also being caring and enthusiastic. Her lectures are very clear and easy to follow, while also being very informative. She is very helpful if you go talk to her at office hours as well. Be careful on the tests, because they can be tricky!
By far the best professor I have had thus far at UCSB. She is engaging, respected, and knows her stuff! On top of that she makes an extraordinary effort to remember students's names and information shared in previous lectures. She has a special way of making you feel noticed even in a l50+ class.
She grades attendance but then wastes lectures going on tangents, it's impossible not to tune her out. To top it off, she tests on minute details she mentioned 1 or 2 times in her tangents so there's no way to get an A unless you listen to, write down, AND remember every little thing she says. Never again.
By far the best professor I have ever had. I am taking classes of her's 4 quarters in a row. She really cares about her students and wants them to succeed. Lecture is engaging and useful. You get points just for being in class. The final paper was actually enjoyable to write! Really fair tests and grading. Would definitely recommend!
