By FAR the WORST class I have taken at UCSB. Readings were dry, lectures were awful, and weekly homework took hours. This class ruined my quarter. DO NOT TAKE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
Class requires a lot of your time. Difficult course if you're not truly invested in the material, but the exam is very fair. Homework problems are probably the most difficult aspect of the course because they are very time consuming and require a solid math foundation. Don't necessary recommend this course.
Class is easy compared to other upper division econ classes. Teacher was helpful and lectures helped with the homeworks. You are allowed a 1 page cheat sheet for midterm. Midterm is mostly true false questions. Learned a lot about the correlation between the environment and economics. This is one of my favorite classes I have taken at UCSB.
Worst professor ever. His lectures are super boring, the homework is extremely hard & has nothing to do with the chapter from which its assigned and he calls people out in class. HW is due every Fri at midnight.. Don't ever take this class!!
Makes rude comments in class if you text/sleep/don't pay attention. Covers a lot of material that is taught in a lot of previous econ classes (broad). Doesn't go over numerical examples in class but each weekly homework is basically all numerical problems... I would recommend to stay away from this professor.
