I now have my BA in Econ from UCSB and I can say with confidence that Seth is by far the best educator in the Econ department. He is passionate about the subject, enjoys teaching and is phenomenally good at the art of teaching. Not easy though. He makes it clear what he wants you to know and then tests you on it! Amazing experience.

Very good teacher and a cool guy. He doesn't use monotonous power points. Take this class with Borgo at all costs. Had a cool beard too.

Best Econ teacher I've had at UCSB. Completely clarified concepts that I'd struggled with in the past. Don't miss any classes, because there are no notes online/book. Several HW assignments, one somewhat tricky MT, and a very straightforward final. Take him if you can!

He's a nice guy, but not a good teacher. In the non curved classes, he's fair. But in classes like 100B and 140, it was incredibly difficult to do well.

this is the easiest econ class ive taken. exams are the exact same as the hw. very minimal workload and borgo is a fun and laid-back lecturer.

Enjoyed lecture a lot, despite how dull the material is. Would highly recommend Seth, especially for 140

Borgo takes what is a very difficult and foreign subject for many people, and teaches in a very clear and concise manner. He made Econometrics bearable, which is more than most can ask for. I really enjoyed his humor and lightheartedness even though his jokes fell flat sometimes. Overall an outstanding Professor. (Textbook not needed).

He's a nice and easy going guy but this class can be very very frustrating at times. The hw percentage is too high. Definitely make sure you do well on the hw.It is the most important part. The book will help with hw and tests a lot despite people saying not to use it. Class has a tough curve but Borgo tries to get you through without too much pain

Borgo is really a nice guy, however i don't like his grading policy. I didn't notice till now how important his homework is. I got really good grade on midterm and final, however still end up with not a desirable grade! I think that really because i mess up two of my homework assignments!? (hw is worth 40% of your grade)

a terrific prof. his humor and easy-going nature alone made a tough class worth my while. i highly recommend taking a class with him. he is very nice and just an enjoyable prof to have to listen to twice a week.

Good Professor. Know the material very well and genuinely makes an effort to explain clearly and make complex concepts simple and relateable.

Borgo is a good teacher. Mandatory attendance as he puts no notes up. HW was graded pretty tough. The midterm was extremely tough, however he said he would make the final fair and did. Enjoyed his teaching style and class, would recommend. Ended up with an A.
