I'm taking his class now that he's at University of Michigan and he's my favorite prof of all time. I love that man. He is a real gem. He really cares about the success of his students and is very interesting and just all around amazing. He works to build you up (plus you can rewrite any essay for a better grade). Steve is the best. Take his class!

Steve was such a great professor. Really funny, really relates to his students and is always there to help them out. He breaks down difficult texts really clearly. As long as you listen well to what he says in class you'll pass the tests with flying colors. Great guy, great beard. I'll be taking another one of his classes as soon as I can.

I really enjoyed his class. He's helpful and made the material interesting, gothic literature is by far more interesting when he pairs it up with creative writing projects and comic books. In all honesty, he only seems vague and unclear at times because no one ever speaks up. He's trying his best, which is what I appreciate.

I absolutely loved this class, Steve really worked to make the material interesting and relevant to social issues, when it easily could have been just a "monster story" class. Really nice and funny which made it easy to talk to him and discuss essay ideas. With more confidence he will be an outstanding professor.

Steve is a nice guy and although he often asks very broad vague questions, he just wants to hear your opinion and have you expand on the material. He is all for allowing the class decide what to do and how to do it. Really liked the choice of a blog or story at the end. Lastly he brought coffee for us, so he warranted a good review.

The course material was not the greatest, and he did say he was going to revamp it, still pretty boring. His comments on papers were really helpful, though. Def not the easiest grader, but he was pretty fair.

Probably the most undeserving B+ I've ever received. He's aware that he's a difficult grader and blames the students for how boring the class is when the material he provides is extremely uninteresting. He has a monotone voice and a very awkward and quirky sense of humor. Could appeal to some but not worth it.

Don't expect to get a good grade .
