He is one of the best professors at UCSB in Signal/Image Processing domain. There are other great professors too, but no one is as motivated as Prof.Liebling in both teaching, motivating & research. I had a good background in signal processing, taking his class - made it so much so clear. He puts a complicated concept very nicely and intuitively.

He's a great professor, and I don't think you could find someone better to do an intro to signals class. The tests are not cake, and each one has a few small theorems or tricks you need to solve the problems. Pay attention to identities you could use to simplify a problem.

Pros: Crystal clear lectures with a straightforward framework, extremely organized, flexible with office hours, hw prepares you for exams, makes jokes Cons: Tests are extremely tricky and you feel rushed because some require tons of hardcore complex algebra (which a competent student can master with time) Overall: One of the best profs I've had

Pros: organized, structured, smart, technologically oriented (email, online lectures), SUPER easy grading on HW/exams, easy MATLAB, easy online quizzes, drops HW/exam hints, sample exams, eq sheet of any size (but useless), don't need txtbook. Cons: math aspect is hard, homework is time-consuming, tests TRICKY b/c multiple soltns. Get Hari as TA!
