Prof Michel is super energetic and helpful. There's a lot of reading but it's usually interesting. Her teaching is not about notes, but YOU actually learning the main concepts. Extra credit for showing up on random days. GO to office hours! She's such a great person and it'll help on your papers. I love Claudine and her Haitian accent!

Unique approach to education. Brought in guest speakers to break up monotony of the lectures. Midterm was difficult! Her personality is incredible, she brings such warmth to the classroom.

I thought she was a great teacher. She was always there to help anyone who needed it.And she almost gave the questions before the test and helped with what she was looking for when she was grading. There is a lot of reading for the test but its not that bad just keep up.This was my favorite course at UCSB attendance is mandatory!

Easily the worst professor I've had at UCSB. She claimed to be the "blackest woman" in the classroom one lecture. She is hard to understand, and she ends all her sentences with "ya know?" in her high pitched accent. The problem is that we don't know, because she hasn't explained. In addition, her lessons are outdated and hypocritical. Avoid her.

Her lectures are fabulous, but there is a lot of reading.
