HIST2B . 3 Years Ago

Reused old lectures for online school & expected students to put 30+ hours into his online class. Readings you wont be able to keep up with & 5-7 quizzes per week on them.

Would never recommend taking Barbieri during online school. Extremely high expectations for terrible circumstances. Heavy heavy work load. I do not recommend taking this unless you have to for a prerequisite. It is not an easy or even manageable course. Syllabus says to expect setting 25 hours aside for the class, but I should've expected worse

Professor Barbieri Low is really knowledgeable and passionate about the topic. He can connect ancient China to ancient Egypt and to medieval Europe. There are quizzes about the reading before class, but fairly easy as he already posted the questions online. He responded emails fast and always available during his office hour. Highly recommended!

Really good class if you're interested in ancient history! Professor Barbieri Low is an actual archaeologist and is super knowledgeable about the topics and makes the lectures really interesting with movies & artifacts he brings to class. We're only graded by 3 3-page papers and a final take home paper which is pretty easy. Highly recommend him!
