She is usually the head TA for Anth 5 but she taught the class in the summer and I fell in love with this subject! The things learned are mind blowing. I never once read the textbook, just paid attention in class and went over her powerpoints that are all posted online. Difficult take home midterm and average final. She is also so willing to help!

Kate was such an awesome teacher!!!! she made the lectures so interesting and by the end of the class I started considering adding anthro as another major or minor!! She keeps the lectures casual and funny and knows how to communicate with her students. LOVE HER!

She is an amazing teacher! Taught my first class at UCSB and I really enjoyed it. She's hilarious in a really dry way, and takes her time to make sure everyone understands the material. Attendance isnt always necessary since all the powerpoints are online.

The average of the take home midterm was a D in my class; even if you think you did well, you probably didn't, so good luck. Final was easier if you studied a lot. Lectures are fun, and use of office hours is greatly encouraged to do well.

After taking this class, my idea of how people live their lives completely changed. The best lectures were definitely the ones of mate selection and food. If you take this class, you'll really understand why people do everything to they do, from choosing a boy/girl friend to why people feel afraid of the dark.
