"I cannot teach anybody anything , I can only make the think" said Socrates. And Prof Lal seems to live by this. If you are expecting just efficient transfer of information from his mouth to your ears - you will be very disappointed! The material will be hard, may not be clear all the time.. but boy, will he make you think - like it of leave it!

Whatever other comments be... let me say that there are very few such men as Prof. Lal in this world. While 99% of those who he teaches usually dislike him... only 1% (and I proudly belong to that 1%) will like him endlessly and that 1% will not need anyone else to agree to them. I did not need to post this comment - but ah well... for fun! :)

classic Lal quotes..."I must be sleeping"... "so what do you think?" followed by class silence... "you must choose your conventions" what the **** are conventions?..."you might be thinking who is this crazy indian man talking jibberish" at least he knows what we think about him... keep posting more awesome lal quotes

Completely useless at teaching and some of the TAs were equally worthless. Yeah, yeah he's nice, well I enrolled in the class to learn electrical engineering and friendliness doesn't really do much for that. But with the thickness of his accent he could have been cussing us out the whole time for all we knew...

Terrible, terrible and terrible. i've traveled around the world looking for a worse teacher and can assure you that such a thing does not exist. i think a deaf mute would have done better. i can't even believe our college dollars are going to graduates from india who can't even speak english, let alone know what they're doing. nice job, lal.

I still have nightmares of when i was enrolled in this course. It is extremely challenging with a professor like Lal, not necessarily because the material is too difficult but because of the pace, structure (or lack thereof) and organization in the material. This would probably be the worst way you could be introduced to your major topics.

I don't believe it. His rating here is too high. There is usually a good qualitiy in a person, but Lal.. only possesses being nice but thats it. Cannot teach to save his life. By end of this class you would develop a habit of copying homework because the hw are so hard and time consuming. And its always a good idea to bring a pillow to his class.

Hands down, no contest, downright the WORST ECE Professor in the history of the world!!! He says "What we mean by this" about 20 times per lecture and CANNOT for the life of him teach the material!! Read what the other people have said- its all the same!! He thinks we're masters at the material when we really aren't! HORRIBLE PROFESSOR!nice guy tho

I was really interested in my major until this class. The material is not necessarily hard, but the teaching couldn't be worse. The lectures are useless, the labs don't teach anything, and the homework is way too hard. get out of this class while you can! The only way to succeed is by copying other people's homework in this class.
