Very passionate professor. You can tell he really loves what he does. You have to go to class to take notes on the lecture. The midterm paper and the final paper are all based off readings and lectures. Takes good notes, follow his paper prompts, you will pass. Participate for good recognition.
Easy Easy Easy. Show up to lectures. Take good notes. One midterm and one final. That's all you're graded on. He gives you the questions for the midterm and final months before the actual exam. Reading the text isn't absolutely necessary, but helps to understand the material.
By far one of my favorite teachers at UCSB. He is a visiting Professor but if he comes back take any class with him! Looked forward to class everyday and actually enjoyed the 2 papers. A great professor and thoughtful, hilarious guy. Clear, flexible, friendly, A++
One of the most entertaining and animated teachers I have ever had. He is definitely worth the time.
Great professor, definitely crazy, but he makes a very laborious and somewhat dry subject interesting and applicable to modern living. Try to get to know him as well, he's a really nice guy. Definitely enjoyed this class and I hope he comes back to UCSB to teach more.
Awesome lecturer. Makes political philosophy not only bearable but fascinating. If you get a chance take his class regardless of your major. And to UCSB, HIRE THIS MAN FULL TIME NOW.
I had Dungey in UCSB as a visiting professor, and he rocked my world. Just his ability to make political philosophy wildly interesting should be enough, but he is so genuine and so truly caring for his students with an amazing sense of humor to boot, that it is an absolute necessity for everyone to have him as a professor. Hugely recommended.
Dungey is my inspiration! If only every prof. were like him. He is an AMAZING lecturer.

Nicholas Dungey is absolutely AMAZING!!...he is the most passionate teacher i have ever had and is soo hot!...i have never missed a lecture and it is because of his sheer wit and charm that every girl who takes his class is in love with him..Ive never cared about Mill and Nietzsche as much as i do now, thank to Dungey!..he is fabulous.
He is an amazing lecturer and professor. He will keep you at the edge of your seat with his rivoting ideas and oratorical skills. He is extremely energetic, realistic, and entertaining. He can make any boring concept seem life altering and amazing. He is very honest and fun too.
