The best Writ 2 teacher out there! She gives plenty of opportunities and help for you to better your grades, and the writing topics were super interesting, and she gives options! I wrote one paper on the movie Fight Club, doesn't get better than that...

Shanna is awesome. She works super hard and does anything she can to help out. The class was cool, too. A lot of discussion about articles or movies we read/watched. Everyone gets involved, and it leads to thought-provocative dialogue among the students.

Shanna was extremely nice if you do what she asks as far as show up on time and turn in work on time. She is also very helpful and we watched really great movies in class (Fight Club and Cinderella Man). She demands and lot and you will improve if you want to. The papers are on really enjoyable topics. Hard class but recommended w/ an easy schedule

She is a wonderful teacher who really cares about her students. She is always willing to meet outside of class to help improve your papers. If you are willing to put in work, you will definitely improve your writing skills. I can easily see the difference after taking her class. With a little extra work, you can get an A. I would recommend her!

Great teacher!

Shanna is a very helpful writing teacher. Her assignments are fair and you can always redo your essays for a better grade. She is really helpful in office hours and her class was pretty interesting. We watched Harold and Kumar in class and that was pretty fun. She was one of my favorite writing professors at UCSB.

Sweetest, most helpful TA I've ever had, she genuinely cares about how you do in this class, and focuses her discussions among topics that will help you on tests/papers. I would highly recommend her to anyone.

She is really understanding and nice. explains everything in complicated terms, but just listen.

Shanna was one of my favorite teachers here at UCSB. Because of her class, I now plan on minoring in English. She is so sweet, and willing to teach and help you with anything that will get you a better grade in the class. I recommend taking any class with her.

Hard to get an A but she does help you to improve you writing. On the essays, you cannot just fill up the space with the usual w/e stuff, cuz she will catch it, and you won't do good. She gives you tons of feedback and an opportunity to revise 2 of your essays at the end.

She is the sweetest most caring teacher I have ever met. She is incredibly committed to her students and is always available to meet with them. She pushes you to become a great writer and really cares about her students! I was not looking forward to having to take writing 2, but Shanna made it fun, interesting, and exciting. She's terrific!
