YASUDA K
Kim Yasuda is not only an Artist and Art Professor but an Artist's Professor. Approach her assignments as if you have full ownership over them, and use Kim as the fabulous resource she is and this course will be well worth your time.
Great professor
Kim is interesting... Not the best professor... But willing to help. I would not recommend taking a class with her.
Stay away from this class!!! Unorganized and a lot more work than she will initially tell you. Horrible experience.
Kim is a great professor, very personable. I enjoyed her class so much I am taking another class by her. She allows you to be creative without controlling your work. One of my favorite professor at UCSB.
WOW she was the most unorganized professor ever. no one ever knew what was happening. I just couldn't take her seriously. she seemed to think she was better than everyone and was always walking around to stare down students like we were kindergartner.
kim is a COMPLETELY different person off the podium... she has an extreme passion for education, art, and the local community. supportive, well connected, and well read to boot. conversations with her are a bit all over the place but high energy and constructive. if she likes your piece, she really does and if not she'll get you to make it better.
Kim is a great facilitator. If your independent and like to GSD then she will try to help you solve problems to get there as best she can and thats why I think shes a great art teacher.
Kim was very fun and helpful. I learned a lot about the process of art. Made me think about what art CAN be.

kim's a spazz. she's so intelligent and definitely knows her art, but she was unorganized and no one knew the details of assignments. the class lacked structure; get a good ta, although they will be as confused as you are from kim's lack of instruction. atleast its an easy class.
She is a nice person and knows her stuff. However she is inarticulate when it comes to lecture. She is very hard to follow and I learned absolutely nothing in that class.
