Great chemistry professor! Very fair grading wise for quizzes and midterms. For those tests, complete the book problems and rework problems from lecture. Final was ridiculously difficult... for that expect the unexpected.
Scott Price is one of my favorite teachers so far. His lessons are well-planned and very clear. He gives us time to take good notes and encourages questions. He is a funny quy, so lectures are always interesting. I actually enjoyed chemistry while in his class. I failed the first midterm, but tried really hard and ended up with an A- overall.
Good professor, teaches everything really well. helps you understand everything with actual practice problems. Tests are huge killers. Getting a passing grade on a test pre-curve is rediculous.
He's a pretty good teacher and is really into what he teaches. His chem1a class was pretty easy I guess but his chem1b class was pretty hard. The final was an OVERKILL! There were problems I've never seen before and there were so many long problems. T_T
I would take him again and again and again! His lectures are sometimes a little fast but if you stay on top of it the whole class you will know what he is talking about. Also, his office hours are really helpful. Oh and I don't think I've ever missed a Chemistry class, mostly because of how hot he is.
Makes chemistry a lot of fun, and tries really hard to engage students with the concepts. Office hours aren't the most helpful, but theres only so much he can do when there are 20 students there. Tries to make the exams straightforward too.
Dr. Price is an amazing teacher, he loves chemistry and it really shows when he's teaching! His demos are a good way to break up the class and keep your attention.
Great professor, motivates students to do well in Chem 1B. Has many resources to help you (lectures, past quizzes/exams, etc.) Exams are quite difficult so it's important to study. Keeps lectures entertaining.
Entertaining lecturer, fair grader, fair tests. Attendance not technically mandatory, but he gives iClicker points.
Awesome teacher. Really helpful and funny! Loved the class. Also he wasn't bad to look at either... definitely motivated me to wake up on time for class!
BEST GEN CHEM PROFESSOR!! On the days he would wear a suit to lecture my friend and I would call him "Mr. President" lol. I had Price for Chem 1B and C and he's a get professor. He posts a lot of practice tests and you can watch his online lectures from covid which are both so helpful for the tests. Practice problems are key!!!
I LOVE THIS MAN HE IS MY ICON. He made learning chem easy, his lectures are great he literally writes out the problem with you and writes out his reasoning/steps. He also posts 5 different versions of past exams with solutions. Only annoying thing is he does not copy and paste a problem from a practice exam and put it on the real exam (iykyk)
Professor Price makes the tricky content easy to grasp. The lectures are super clear, and the recorded videos are a lifesaver for reviewing. Use the practice exams and unstuckstudy ai - they'll prep you for the tough tests. Just put in the work and an A is very doable.
Price is an amazing chem professor and is good at making the difficult content easy to digest. Lectures are very clear and lecture videos are posted online in case you need to go back to review/miss a lecture. Exams can be difficult but are similar to the practice exams given so be sure to utilize those.
Best professor I have ever had and probably will ever have. Tests are hard, ngl, but he gives past practice exams which make them 1000 times easier. Getting a high A is easy to do if some work is put into it.
Professor Price is genuinely the best chem professor here. He is kind and understanding towards his students and just wants them to learn. His teaching is very clear, midterms and final are just like the practice exams. Just make sure to study well, Study, go to office hours, make an effort, you'll be fine.
Price is excellent at giving you every resource available to get through general chemistry. Likely the best choice if you are worried about passing chem.
Gen Chem is just objectively difficult but Dr. Price makes it way more digestible and easy to understand. Lectures are all recorded so attendance isn't mandatory and you can always rewatch to get a better grasp on concepts you don't understand. Take advantage of those and the practice exams and book problems, that's really the only way to get an A.
I am an ADHD student and I have taken twice CHEM1A lessons. I can focus on his lecture most of the time and easily interpret the points. Also, attendance at lectures is not necessary. You can have the lecture videos as effectively as in person with a lot of materials for after-class reviewing and previewing. Exams are all multiple-choice and easy.
Brotha is the best prof ever. He genuinely teaches and answers every question. RESPECT. if u don't take him u are doing yourself a huge disservice.
I am in love with Professor Price. I wish I could retake the gen chem series just to see him
Really good professor, the practice exams he gives out saved my life. If you go to lecture and do the work, you will definitely pass with a B or higher.
professor price is definitely the best chemistry professor at ucsb. even though the gen chem series is super difficult and time-consuming, he makes it as digestible as possible. lectures are also posted online!
Literally the best professor I have had. If you have the option, take Price for CHEM 1A/B/C (I had him for all three). Exams are definitely difficult but very similar to practice exams. Textbook problems are extremely helpful in understanding the material. Overall, great professor. This class made me enjoy chemistry.
