Professor Mirza's lectures are decent. She is clearly passionate about the topic, and grades a bit more generously than some other professors. However, it's worth mentioning that this course is extremely difficult, with challenging lab assignments and exams. Considerable effort is needed to obtain a good grade in this class.
Introduces Chem E concepts in a simple, understandable way. I adored this class. Biweekly homework (don't wait til last minute). and a final group project. No tests. Biweekly lab where you get to go through the process of making biodiesel. Guest speakers from Clorox. Overall, a great class. Always looked forward to lecture. Textbook not required.
Professor Mirza is one of the best teachers I have ever had, and definitely the best computer science teacher I have ever had. Her lectures and slides are amazing and taught me concepts that would normally take me hours to learn on my own. Her exams are quite difficult but she is generous with extra credit, same with labs/projects.
Everyone should take a class with Chada if they have the chance. He is incredibly caring, an amazing teacher, and an all around awesome guy. He makes learning difficult concepts not only simple but also incredibly engaging. And we got to do an awesome lab. Take his courses!
she is so nice. most csw8 classes follow the same format which were just zybooks, weekly quizzes, and a final project. you can tell she cares and is passionate about teaching the subject.
not a very good or nice professor. dont know if she is still employed but maybe, based on what she did to me, i should have gotten her fired when i had the chance.
Review #2 for Professor Chada! Separations was really interesting to me, and although I did poorly on the midterm, I think he understood that I felt my capabilities didn't match my test scores, and was very helpful and encouraging in the days leading up to the final. Be prepared to learn a lot of content in just 10 weeks.
Nice professors, very few HWs
INCREDIBLY hard labs where you have to implement so many data structures but... god it drills it into your head really well. Years later and I still remember all the data structures taught and use it in job interviews, so I have to hand it to Mirza. She is nice but tests+labs are REALLY difficult. Hw is easy textbook problems. START EARLY ON LABS.
Homework was hard, but fun. Concepts were definitely interesting and Mirza is the best at explaining. She the goat.
Do the homework, grading is normal, all the tests info are on slides, just study them, don't know why people don't like that, better than having no info on the slides. Provided a cheatsheet but cheatsheets are only good for studying. As long as you show up, which college students dont, easy A.
Online during the summer. The work was very doable and was always available for help during office hours. One short quiz every week with plenty of time to take it and online textbook assignment due every week on Sunday. Mandatory sections. Final is group project
Homework is the standard amount for a class like this, and the labs are fun rather than tedious. The lectures can sometimes be a drag. However, you could always finish the homework during lecture time. Otherwise, a very standard and enjoyable class.
Taking discrete math with Professor Mirza is really my great fortune! She explains things super clearly and her lectures are well-organized and inspiring. She is very accessible outside class and is super warm. She's always happy to help you with any course stuff or even your general academic life outside class. Surely one of the best professors!
ChE5 was very easy. Dr.Chada is very nice and helpful
Gives out reviews much simpler than the actual tests... Very good teaching but hard grading, no curves
Really Good Professor
Hands down, my favorite class
Midterm was very long and extremely difficult compared to what was provided as practice in lecture and in labs/homework/midterm reviews. Final was decent but still challenging (written portion was barely like the final review provided). Don't take this class unless you're very confident in your coding skills.
Professor Mirza was an amazing professor; her lectures were mostly clear and she was willing to answer questions to clarify topics. She was very understanding and clearly cared about her students. I highly recommend taking this class with her.
CHE5 is a very good introductory chemE course. You have a biweekly labs over the quarter when you make biodiesel and tie into topics learnt in class. Hws take some time but are very doable. Easy course, no final but final project.
Professor Chada is very nice. If you have no prior knowledge of the curriculum, make sure to read the textbook and go to office hours! When it comes to due dates make sure to turn them in on time because he is less lenient than other professors. As for the lab section, DON'T BE LATE or he will confront you about it.
She is an amazing professor that takes care of students. The workload is average and her lectures are insightful and engaging.
Diba is the goat.
