Dr. Coburn was great in lectures, and made the concepts seem simple to understand, but the ease of homework, examples and quiz questions left me improperly prepared for the midterm and final question styles. Very accesible, and office hours are helpful. Weekly homework and quizzes, a midterm and a final exam.

The professor is calm and cool. The exams are a bit hard and I would recommend studying with lots of practice problems weeks before exams. I found that the practice exams were not as helpful as the lecture examples.

honestly 120A was fine if you studied and showed up to class. it was hard but idk who expects it to be easy

All my friends said that he was the easy professor for 120A, but his practice tests were NOTHING like the actual exams. Lectures were boring and not useful. Fully made me lose the passion that I had for statistics. Ended up taking this class P/NP and dropped my stats minor. None of the content is interesting or applicable to the real world.

Test materials are different from lectures. He said he would not test the materials he had taught in the last several minutes, yet he still gave one.

Studied hours a week and still nearly failed. The student's effort doesn't pay off because the tests were not taught properly in the lectures either.

Extremely tough grader. The exam questions were not completely relevant to what appeared on HW and Quizzes. Avoid him at all costs

Professor was lowk nice but exams were nothing like the practice ones given, better to just practice the CLAS ones. Lectures were behind and slow as we spent an unreasonable amount of time on elementary arithmetic. Went to every lecture, but still had to basically teach myself the course. exam grading is fair and hw/quizzes are light

Coburn is a very nice person but the class was hard due to the structure. Had to do a lot of self teaching for homework because he was a week behind on lecture. We were still being taught 2 days before the final. Spent so much time on integrals that we weren't able to cover the stats efficiently.

A nice and respectable person, but he gives harsh grades. Messing up the exam so much that you are still significantly above the median will fail you in the course. Lectures didn't help so much either.

Exams were hard but fair. Couple students got perfect score on each one which shows they arent impossible. 120A is rough but doable if you put in the work. Lectures are boring. Shes nice tho. Would take again.

Tony Coburn is real nice. He offers extra credit and grades HW leniently. However, these are no excuses for lackluster lectures, where he hypnotizes you to sleep and spends dozens of minutes on an integral with about no regards to pace. Sometimes you go to lectures and immediately want to go home as the book is better at instructing. Not the best.

PSTAT 120A is hard. Prof Coburn's lectures are understandable, but will put you to sleep. The tests are a LOT harder than the practice ones she will give you.Our class fell behind schedule because she is so slow at teaching. To be honest, it was a chaotic learning environment and made it hard as a student to actually try.

The lectures were lackluster and behind schedule, making the course feel a lot harder than it really was. Coburn grades generously, but I feel that I've learned very little in her class.

Frequently made mistakes on example problems and often did not give clear answers to student questions. Resulting slow pace led to us missing 2 full weeks of content. Didn't really promote understanding of material, just how to plug in formulas. Honestly not even worth the easy A for PSTAT majors. Take someone else if possible

Dr. Coburn is very accessible and easygoing. She exhibits an optimistic and caring attitude during her lectures, which are quickly paced and heavy on content. Even though course material is challenging, homework problems from the textbook are graded on completion, with online quizzes provided weekly and a single note sheet allowed on each exam.

Coburn is an alright teacher but good if you are ready to learn without the pressure of grades. The tests are identical to problems in lecture/homework, and sections are super organized and teach you a lot. Lectures themself went slowly but lots of time was spent on each problem, and it took very little work outside of homework.

Seems most people either hate or love Dr. Coburn but as long as you go into it without the notion that you're getting an easy A & actually study - you'll do well in her class. She is a bit tough to reach outside of class & does make calculation errors in her slides but the study guides prepare you well for the midterm/final + cheat sheets allowed

Dr. Coburn's PSTAT 120A is one of the best options you have if you want to get A. However it might not dive in as deep as other 120A. The only imperfection of her is that she will never respond to your email. Other than that the class is generous on giving As. section attendance required and hw graded on completion.

Professor Coburn's class is easy and she is a nice person. She is also not a tough grader. However, the lecture is always behind the homework, and she does not respond emails. She teaches way too slow, and we were not able to finish all the materials we need to be prepared for 120B.

Professor Coburn is a very easy professor, graded 50% on section attendance and homework (which was graded on completion). She, however, taught the material very slowly and would often lag behind assigned home work. Her in class examples were very simple while the homework was very complex. I didn't learn a lot.

took 120c online over the summer. overall good class, attendance was mandatory which sucked but otherwise fine
