Professor Gallucci is one of the best here at UCSB. I was about to give up on Greek, but with his help I'm now reading Plato and loving it. Very approachable and willing to help. Lots of handouts and quizzes, but I feel as a result(wste) my Greek is much stronger!
Professor Gallucci is very knowledgeable about Greek civilization however he does not present it in an interesting manner. It's hard to keep up with him during lecture because he talks about so many things its hard to figure out what is most significant to wright down.Oh and DONT take this class if you have ADD, you WONT pay attention.
Gallucci ruined any interest I could have had in the class. A boring lecturer, he stares somewhere in the back of the room and thinks aloud to himself as his lecture. I fell asleep often in class and the textbook was confusing with a superfluous writing style. This class could have been a lot more interesting.

This class was EXTREMELY boring. And rather difficult. I showed up to almost every lecture and studied like crazy yet i still ended up with a D in it. I'm an graduation senior, a lower division class should not be this difficult. The material we were going to be tested on was also vague and almost completely irrelevant to the reading
A good teacher but too repetitive. Very interesting subject but be sure to go to lecture because it's a good supplement for the readings.
Professor was very helpful, willing to talk to you. Actually lead the study group before exams rather than handing it off to a TA. Would definitely take another class from him.
great guy
Great course in Greek mythology. Discussion seems kind of pointless but lectures are important for the tests. Gallucci has a genuine interest in the success of his students and doesn't employ any tricks on the tests. Shows lots of videos in class. If you slack off too much it's not an easy A.
Extremely helpful and interested in students in general. Understanding of student issues and exams are fair.
EASY CLASS!!! He is very helpful and makes it very very easy to get an A. I would take more classes with him. Great way to get rid of lit requirement.
Gallucci is the man. He's super interested in his subject area and seems to know his stuff. Lecture was kind of boring but it doesn't matter, all you have to do is read SparkNotes...
he is SOOOO NICE. i love that he is genuinely interested in helping the students. if you go to class and pay attention you will ace all the tests. i definitely want to take more classes with him. the only reason some students may not like him is because he lectures from a podium with no power point or visuals whatsoever and it's hard to pay attn.
Gallucci is the man. He is a great guy and his class is pretty easy. I definately would take another class from him.
he's a good guy... Very interesting class...I recomend it to anyone!! easy too, hardly had to study.
He's one the hardest working faculty here, and he's always available to help students with papers, questions, and recommendations. 171, Artifact and Text is the best class I have taken so far. Awesome discussions, everyone participates. Has me thinking about changing my major to Classics.
If you have to take a classics class taker one with Professor Gallucci. The guy is amazing. He is helpful, genuinely interested in his students, and whatever he doesn't know, he'll find out. He adds powerpoint to his lectures and handouts, but don't let this fool you. He is tough and doesn't let you skate by. You'll work hard, but its worth it
great guy, you really have to try to fail. boring material in my opinion and he tends to just talk for the whole lecture without any power point or anything. It's hard to pay attention for that long. good GE to take though. I barely go to class and just read sparks notes. really nice prof!
Awesome professor! Take advantage of his office hours, he is really nice and easy to talk to. Go to lecture and do the readings, and you'll be okay
SUCH a nice guy! galluci is awesome...
I loved everything we read in his class and he's gives interesting lectures.
Your a great teacher, especially when it come to being available outside of class for essay and study help. You Rock :)
He begins most of his run-on sentences with "In antiquity..." But he is a nice guy and if you go to class he will reward you.
You have to TRY to not to pass his classes. He's very nice and always helpful if you come to his office hours. And he keeps your essays short and to the point, rather than eight pages of crap.
