Park is amazing. His classes are some of the best I have taken at UCSB. Don't leave with out getting one of his classes if you are at all interesting in AS AM, the law, public policy, or immigration. He is a fair/blind grader. There is a lot of reading but it is interesting.
Interesting class, pretty enthusiastic professor. He gave us study guides for each test, but he might not for future classes (he says we depend too much on them). Really helpful in office hours, so if you take him, go at least once to his office to see what he wants from you in the exams.
Very knowledgeable. Easy to follow but a little dry.
Nothing good to say about this guy. I would not recommend taking this class with him.

He's a really nice guy, and pretty approachable. The lecture is rather easy to follow, but be careful on the tests- he grades according to what other students say, so how you do depends on how well everyone else does. Otherwise, pretty decent class, real nice guy.
Great Professor! Very intelligent, open minded and challenging. Inspired me to go to graduate school. I highly encourage everyone to go to his office hours, he is very helpful.
He thinks he is the****, nothing but a dork. Nothing positive to say about this class or the professor.
Prof Park is arrogant.. if your viewpoints are different from his, he won't even hear it. You practically need a dictionary to take his midterms and finals. It's disappointing that someone so intelligent cannot even connect with his students.
I also enjoyed his class, he uses powerpoint lectures and expects you to do the reading. He is VERY accomodating, just talk to him, encourages students to use office hours, esp to talk about paper, even provides books to use if you're stuck.
I thought Prof. Park was a really good professor. He is willing to look at the drafts of your paper as many times as you like. His topics are easy enough. Just go to class and you will do well.
those who dislike him, are not students. he's a great teacher, full important info and challenging questions. it is not fun cuz it is class. at least it is interesting and challenging. refreshing, since ucsb has disappointed me over the years.
The first two comments were obviously written by a couple of dumb asses that never paid attention in class. Prof. Park is awesome, this is the 3rd class I've taken with him, and he always has a wealth of knowledge, and always accomodates for his students.
Prof Park. is a really cool prof. He is really helpful and is very approachable. The first two reviews dont do him justice. Korean Americans is a very interesting class and reccomend others to take it.
This teacher is not nearly as bad as the other two reviews say. The class can be very interesting if you want it to be. Sometimes there are great discussions. I would take another class if you want something fun, but this one isnt bad. Can be challenging
This guy thinks he's the Sh*t cuz he went to Berkley. He's an ASIAN steve urkel that always got his a** whooped, never had friends, and now decides to take it out on college students. DONT TAKE HIS CLASS, UNLESS YOU LIKE SLEEPING!
