Music Performance Laboratories - MUS A

A skills course designed for developing guitar technique used in folk, rock, blues, classical and jazz styles. The curriculum focuses on strumming patterns, finger picking, chords and their voicings, riffs and soloing. Emphasis is on learning to play songs by ear. Neck geography is taught through relational patterns of scales and modes. All guitar types (acoustic, classical, electric) are welcome, though acoustic/ classical are preferred. This class accommodates a variety of playing levels, from complete beginner to intermediate-advanced shredders and classical players, and everything in-between. Guitar to be provided by the student.

Prerequisites: Enrollment by audition.
