Are ghosts and monsters “present” among us? Through a selection of films and stories from Latin America, Brazil, and Lusophone Africa, this course examines how the horror genre, in dialogue with Western and non-Western traditions, opens onto questions of history, trauma, culture, and social life.

Prerequisites: Upper-division standing.
