Chicano Studies - CH ST

Given the continuous rise of anti-immigrant sentiment felt across the United States and across the globe, this course brings the realities of immigrants of color to the forefront by exposing health inequities. It especially focuses attention on the structural inequities, drawing on Latinx Critical Race Theory, Chicana/o/x feminist epistemologies, and sociological insights into how and why ‘illegality,’ racism, and health converge and their critical intersections in exposing larger health inequities.

Prerequisites: Upper division standing.
