Asian American Studies - AS AM

An in-depth look into the poetics of decoloniality by African, Arab, Asian, Caribbean, Chicanx, Indigenous, Latin American, and Pacific Islander writers such as Aimé Césaire, Edward Said, Frantz Fanon, Haunani-Kay Trask, and María Lugones. It asks: What is decolonization, decolonial theory, and decolonial feminism, and are we truly 'post-colonial'? How may a decolonial poetics help us understand our current existence in a time of ongoing genocide, settler colonialism, and endless war?
