Increasingly, business managers must address how Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) risks impact enterprise financial value. Improperly managed ESG risks frequently cause material, negative consequences to revenues, operating costs, profitability, reputation, and competitive standing. Consequently, capital markets seek transparency on ESG risks—such as environmental impacts, worker safety, and governance effectiveness—to optimize capital allocations. This course explores ESG risks from an enterprise management perspective, examining how a long-term lens helps firms mitigate downside risks and uncover value creation opportunities. Theory is balanced with real case studies to demonstrate practical application.
