This hands-on laboratory course introduces students to the rapidly advancing field of comparative genomics, focusing on how large-scale genomic data is generated, analyzed, and applied in scientific research. Students gain practical experience using bioinformatics tools to compare genomes across species, explore evolutionary relationships, investigate genome structure and function. Emphasis will be placed on real-world applications in biological research.

Prerequisites: MCDB 1A, MCDB 1B, EEMB 2 and EEMB 3; Completion of all listed prerequisites with a grade of C- or better.
