CollegeFully async except the tests, so you have to learn on your own. Material was tough but if MATH 8 was easy for you, you'll be fine. The good thing is his scale is extremely lenient and I think a 21% grade was a D- so don't worry about failing. He was kind of rude during the exams tbh, but you don't really have to interact with him so not a big deal.
I took several classes with Harutyunyan, he is a great lecturer and one of my favourite professors at UCSB.
He is very hard to understand and goes so quickly through material that it is hard to keep up. It does not seem like he wants his students to succeed in this course it seems like he would rather finish everything so he can go home. His lectures do not prepare you for the midterm exams you must teach yourself everything
The professor put in no effort. DO NOT TAKE HIM
Worst professor I've had. Unclear what was expected and extremely unrealistic grading. Provided little feedback on what to study. Avoid at all costs!
Easily the most frustrating experience I have had in a math class. Professor often changed or cancelled office hours, was unresponsive over email, graded tests harshly, and sometimes struggled writing proofs in class. He responded to requests for help with course content or for study material beyond his insufficient resources with condescension.
