Not very nice and rarely smiles. There is no small talk or casual conversation at all. A tough grader with a heavy workload.
Professor Tsai explains course ideas in a patient and organized way. His lectures are detailed but still easy to understand, and the homework helps reinforce the main concepts. He is approachable, energetic, and willing to answer questions. The occasional group activities also make the class more interactive and enjoyable.
Professor Danny Tsai is a great instructor. His lectures are clear and detailed, and the homework is very helpful. Exams are not too heavily weighted, and homework grades are fair if students complete the work. He is friendly, enthusiastic, and easy to communicate with. The group activities are fun, and the class atmosphere is very positive.
Tsai's lecture is pretty good. He explains the concept and structure of writing reasonably. I am glad to meet with him in this winter quarter. I join his office hour once, and he gives me many useful advices:)
He is not qualified to be a teacher. He hates students for no reason. His grading system is quite different from what he stated in his syllabus.
The workload for this course is excessive, often requiring at least 7 hours each week. However, the assignments are absolutely not helpful for learning. He will give you a low grade if he doesn't like you.
